GRAHAM Construction have awarded Blackbourne Integrated M&E the Mechanical and Electrical contract for the brand new state-of-the-art sport and leisure centre in Glenrothes for Fife Council. The centre is expected to cost around £21 million and is due to open in April 2013.
The centre will include an eight lane competition swimming pool with a spectator gallery, a training pool with movable floor, a teaching pool and a modern wet-side change area with adjoining health suite. The dry-side facilities will include a gym, aerobics studio and badminton and squash courts. Outdoor facilities will include a number synthetic pitches and an athletics track.
Blackbourne's Mechanical Director, Giles Hill commented; "this project win is another in a continued successful relationship with GRAHAM Construction, especially in the leisure sector along with the ongoing work at the Royal Commonwealth Pool project in Edinburgh."
